Hello! My name is Jacqui, and welcome to ReptilesOnTheRoad.com, home of "The Zoo That Comes To YOU!". Located in Nassau County on Long Island, Reptiles on the Road is a privately run business in which my friendly pets and I will come to visit your school, birthday party, or other event for an interactive reptile experience. My animals are kept in ideal conditions and I personally guarantee that all of my animals are healthy and safe. I am trained in the proper ways of handling these animals, and I can ensure that no one will get hurt in the interactive learning process.
Learning through interaction is the best way to teach, and I strongly believe that the interaction I have to offer you will help you and your children learn to love and respect these exotic animals found around the world. Children love to get up close and personal with my animals and the animals just love the undivided attention. Children will be allowed to interact with and touch many of the animals I bring with me, but it is never necessary! If you are scared, you will never be forced to do anything you do not want to do.
After all, the show is all about you!
I will choose animals that I feel are best suited for your personal needs, but you have the ultimate say in what kind of animals come to you. I will never turn down any reasonable request! However, working with live animals is always tricky, and animals may sometimes need to be substituted due to the animal's mood, shedding cycle, or other reasons (I'm sure we can all compare to that!).
Our season runs from the middle of March to the middle of October (weather permitting). Reptiles often hibernate in the winter and will not wake until the beginning of the spring. Also, since reptiles are cold-blooded, they cannot come out in cold weather. I am sorry if this causes any inconvenience!
Please take a look around my website to see all that we have to offer. Thank you for visiting, and I hope to work with you soon!
